Message: I just had some punk try and steal my 2002 Dakota
They went in and opened up the steering column and cut a band of copper wire that sits around the ignition cylander. Does anyone know wether this copper band is a seperate part from the immobilzer module or if it comes as one set. I can not tell for sure but it looks as though the module has not been touched? Also would i need to get the truck reprogrammed after I replace these parts? Thanks in advance for your help

Message: I think it's all part of the SKIM so you have to replace the whole shebang. The CTM will have to be initialized to the new module. Could cost a few bux but insurance will cover it.
Nothing worse than than damn stupid punk who doesn't know a vehicle equipped with SKIS can't be stolen by hot wiring, unless they carry a DRBIII around with them.
