I want to get some new tires and I can find them online cheaper then around my area but obviously they're not mounted and balanced. About how much would it cost? Just trying to figure out which is gonna be cheaper. Thanks

Most places in my area charge $12 per tire for mounting and balancing. You can order online from Discount Tire and they'll mount and balance your tires for free.

I'm keeping stock rims...this is why I was wondering. Hopefully it's that cheap around my area too. Thanks for the info.

Some places wont mount tires unless you bought them there, make sure you know a place that will.

tirerack.com has a deal with tire and repair shops all over the country, for a fee of about 20 bucks per tire these guys will accept your tires for you from the shipping company, notify you when they are in and mount and balance them for you. These guys are agents of tirerack so any compliants to the main office gets the guy in deep doodoo with the rack so they are on the up and up, not fly by nighters. sears feels so threatened by them that all you have to do is mention tirerack to them and if the salesman wants a sale, will offer to match the tirerack deal IF sears carries the same brand/model. at least the one near me did.

The place I work has a world wide company *deal*
with a well know tire company. They buy all their
tires from the company direct and shipped all over
the country.

By the time the local tire shop mounts and
balances four of them, the so called *deal* is
gone.

I really don't blame the local tire company for
charging 25 bux a tire either. He's gotta make a
liven too!

I would recomend just getting the tires from discount tire. Sure it will be say, $200+ more, but you get a tire life warrenty, which is very, very useful. Trust me, you'll love getting a free tire every time a tiny p[eice of rubber comes off the tire.
