Subject: Motor smokes but not oil burning IP: Logged
Message: Hi, My 5.2lt motor in my 95 dakota runs great and strong but it smokes some all the time. The smoke doesnt stink like burnt oil or look like burning oil? Anyone have any comments about this?

Message: Had same problem, it was a coolant leak where the thermostat sits. the coolant was sitting on top and smoking, took about a month to find it.

Message: chances are is that you have a head gasket going down. your motor will burn antifreeze before it was burn the oil. it's not that bad yet. the smoke that is coming out of the pipe is a little blue colour and not black. blue=water or moisture
black=oil or engineparts
