Subject: Eagle Rim dilemma IP: Logged
Message: Just received my mail order Eagle Alloy rims and mounted them on new rubber (265/70/16) only to find out the offset is too much and they rub on the stock front flares real bad when turning. This is on a 2001 quad cab with stock supension. Love the looks of them (series 101) but can't drive it. Is there any aftermarket 16" rim that WON'T rub? These are 16 x 8's and I guess I'm screwed now since I mounted them. This sucks!

Message: I have the Enkei RTS wheels on mine. 16x8 with 114.3 backspacing. My truck is lowered and my tires are wide as hell (295/50/16) and NO rubbing at all.

Message: Are you a 2wd? If you are 4wd maybe crank the torsion bars up so your front end gets about 1 inch to 1.5 inches of lift. Can you get different tires? I its a 2wd try a 255/65r16 or 275/60r16.

Message: Thanks alot for all the tips on rims, will look into them. Yes, the truck is a 4x4 and I have tweeked the torsion bars in the past on other Dakotas. I've noticed you get a harsher ride when you do that and plan to leave this truck alone. But thanks for the tip. Love my new(er) truck.......

Message: I have a 2003 4x4 and went with the AR Pythons 16x8. I have 265/70/16 Bridgestone APT III's on them; i got a little rub on the passenger side front fender but just had to cut the inside of the fender well a little and it was fine.
