Hi Guys -
Haven't posted in awhile but I have a problem that I need some help with. I have a 1996 318, CC Dak. My problem is that when I go turn on the heat/fan/ac I get nothing. The fan will not turn on at all. This happened once or twice last year, but then it would come on again. I think now its finally dead.
Could this be one of the following?
- Climate control switch
- fuse
- blower motor
I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but any help in diagonosing this would be greatly appreciated.

Got same prob w/my 93 318, & now found out my radio doa also-all fuses under dash ok, so there must be a pwr dist panel under hood. Will try & take look this aftn.

I would check the fuse first. If it's blown, Replace it then try again. If it blows it again then the fan is probably locked up. I had this happen. I could feel the cold air at the ducts with my hand with the a/c on but it would not blow.

The dealer told me it was the blower motor resister to my problem, which it the heat/ac only works on high blower and not on any of the lower settings i have yet to go and fix it, becuase i'm working out a tranny problem, but i should have it fixed next week.

On the gen11 the resistor is on the passanger side of the fire wall under the hood and is easy to pull out only takes 2 screws and a couple of seconds. look to see if any of the springs or wires are broken if so replace the unit. it is only around $8.00 at any dodge or chrysler dealership. I would check this first before checking the fuse or the switches or motor if every thingelse is working ok. Hope this helps

So that's what that thing is.
I found my resistor had a burnt wire.
I soldered on a large size paper clip and have had no problems for a year.
