Subject: brake bolts wrench size IP: Logged
Message: 1)know what size allen wrench it takes for the front brake pad retainer bolts on a '00 2wd?
2) did dodge make some 2000 models with serviceable bearings and some with sealed hub/bearing units?

Message: I assume you're talking about the caliper 'slider pins'
7mm as mentioned, odd size that doesn't come in a standard wrench set. I bought one from an industrial supply for a buck and change.

Message: I used a size 45 torex, it wasn't an allen. The front hub is a unit, some parts stores list individual bearings, but you would have take the hub and have the bearings pressed out and the new ones pressed in.

Message: thanks...wanted to change brake pads and realized I didn't have any allen wrenches that fit.
Bought Autozone Duralast pads.....if anyone has negative experience with these I'd appreciate their comments.

Message: I never had a problem with Duralast pads from Autozone. Keep the reciept though. eventually they will wear out and I believe there's a lifetime guarantee. Beware of parts like ball joints, stearing gears and stuff from Autozone.
