Subject: 01 4x4 looks like 2wd IP: Logged
Message: I just got an 01 Dakota Reg Cab SLT 4x4 with the V8. The only thing it doesn't have is the cool wheels and tires. I just have the ordinary 15x7 wheels. It makes my truck look small and wimpy like a 2wd. Is there something else done to the trucks that have the 16x8 wheels to make them look taller? I really need to do something about it. My wife even said it looks like a little sissy truck!

Message: Crank up the torsion bars a little, buy tires with an agressive tread. Put on some nerf bars and have your ol' lady ride in the back flashing her tits. This will get your truck some attention.

Message: lol na that won't work his o'l ladies cans might hang lower than the truck and scrape on the pavement as they drive down the road. "It makes my truck look small and wimpy like a 2wd".
P.S. what's wrong with 2wd's arsehole.

Message: Nothing wrong with 2wd trucks, it's just not what I bought - it wouldn't do me any good around here. I was only wondering if the trucks that have the upgraded wheel/tire package from the factory have any suspension components that make it sit higher, or if the difference in stance is completely due to the wheels and tires???

Message: The 4x4's with the tire/wheel package also have fender flares which gives them a more 'aggressive' look.

Message: Yes you can up grade with 16" wheels and say the 265/70 that came on some of the 4x4. That's what I did on my 2000 QC. I also cranked my torsion bars and and got about a 1" lift in the front. I also put on Roadmaster active suspension kit on the back for when I load up the back or haul my trailer with my dirt bikes. SpacinJason noted the flares which add the look of a wider stance.
NEVER FORGET!
