Subject: Stock radio issues IP: Logged
Message: Since I bought my 2000 R/T 5 years ago, I have had this same problem with the stock radio. It seems as if there is a lot of bass. With it turned almost all the way down, it seems pretty normal. When a beat hits, the sound goes out and fades back in and there is a pop sound. I took it to a dealer and they replaced the radio. That radio would not play recorded CDs and it did not fix the popping. Then they replaced the amp, or at least they said they did, and that did not fix it. So I then went to another dealer and they replaced the radio. The radio they put in had an issue with the volume knob not working and the sound would get progressivly louder and you turn the truck on and off. They replaced it again, and the radio was fine except for the popping problem. So I gave up with the dealers. Any idea what would cause this?

Message: Forget the stealership for help with anything like this. If they can't fix it by replacing the head unit and the amp, they won't know what to do. I'd try a local outfit that specializes in car audio. A place here is called Ear Candy and the guys there live to talk about this stuff.

Message: I guess they said with the Infinity upgrade there is an amp. You don't think the dealer is lying, do you? Nah dealers don't lie, they are the most honest people I have ever met. Cheah, and monkeys might fly out of my butt.
