I change the oil in my Dakota once a year or every 25,000 miles
with a filter change half way in between.
I change the synthetic diesel engine oil in my 98' Dodge Ram
Cummins Diesel at 15,000 miles (or Six months) and a filter
change half way in between also.
I use nothing but AMSOIL Synthetics and their Super Duty filters.

Message: CumminsMan what was the longest OCI on your Dakota and what motor? Analysis? Someone here tried that, going up to 20k(Amsoil), and it wasn`t pretty(4.7). Abnormal flags for Fe,Al,possible piston scuff, Viscosity through the roof, careful!

The most I have ever put on my 1995 SC V-6 (3.9L) Dakota was
a little over 20,000 miles and the oil passed oil analysis with
flying colors.
My primary truck now is a 98' Dodge Ram Cummins Diesel and I
put over 30,000 miles on it in the first year that I had it and only
two oil changes.
