Subject: Belly pan gasket IP: Logged
Message: Does the '93 5.2L have this belly pan gasket problem? Could this be where my oil is going? I dont see blue smoke in my exhaust but occasionally I need to add oil - especially after cruising the interstate.

Message: Yes. All magnum 5.2 and 5.9 engines suffer from it. If you have never changed it it is most likely blown. I did mine on my 92 last year, swapped out for an M1 manifold.
Just look down the TB bores with the engine off. It will be painfully obvious if it is blown and sucking oil.

Message: yep. the belly pan is a pain.. if dodge would have used thicker material for the pan, this wouldn't happen. I replaced the sheet metal one for a 1/4 inch thick plate of 6061 aluminum, sealed with RTV and no gasket... no leaks!

Message: I'll have to look to see if mine is bad. What is the cause of this blowout? Vacume? Pessure? I've installed a supercharger - what are my chances of a blown belly pan gasket?
