How much of a value decrease would there be if I wanted to repaint my blue 2003 R/T to yellow?
I've heard different things about it, like it's better to go darker than lighter and vise versa.

It depends on the quality of the paint job. If they do a full tear down, straighten out the body and repaint the entire blue with yellow, it would be worth alot more than just painting the outside yellow.
Nothing more hideous than opening the hood or a door and seeing 2 or 3 or 4 different colors of paint.

A really good paint job and a color switch like the one you want should run you $6000. That's a complete tear down, bed removal, you name it. It will look factory. I don't see a color change necessarily lowering the value of your vehicle. I like the solar yellow color myself. I have only seen 1 solar yellow Dakota in person in my life though. Could make it rare, or just not he man enough, I don't know.

The thing about an TR is that it is a racing truck. Should be flashy. I bet there are a lot of people that would want one, so there should not be a problem with decreasing its worth. Also, I have never noticed a question for color on Kelly blue book, Nada, etc...

Hey if it's what you want Then do it!!
If you like it Then sombody else will if you decide to sell.
They will be willing to pay what you want because it's the color they want, and you will enjoy it more while you own it.
Not me though Yellow is NOT my color

Will it decrease the value? No, it won't change it at all. Accoding to KBB my truck is worth $50 more because it's yellow. By the way, I just sold it to the first person who looked at it. :(
