Subject: Add overhead computer to '04 IP: Logged
Message: I have an '04 Dak that did not come w/ the overhead console/computer. It is otherwise loaded... I've seen some posts about this - wondering if any of you can point me in the right direction. Didn't the '04 have something different about it that you can't use prior year overheads? Any tips on obtaining one & installing it would be greatly appreciated.

Message: I added the puter to my 01, which had mostly everything else.
Don't listen to anyone who tells you it wil cost X amount of $ to get it wired up.
I installed mine for $80. That was the cost of a brand new, in the box, puter from someone on here that had bought it and never installed it.
The wiring was rather simple once I figured out what it needed, and the install cost me 0. Did it myself, and the three wires that came on the unit were long enough to run down my A pillar to the fuse box, and the OBD comm port.
If you can get one, go for it.

'04 Dakota has New Generation Controller.
Get a display unit from '04 or it will not work properly.
