Subject: Popping sound (03 SXT) IP: Logged
Message: I have an 03 SXT 3.9 with only 14K miles. The truck makes a wierd poping sound when I turn the wheels or stop. Whats wierd is that my truck only does it on days its over 60 degrees and dry. On cold or rainy days it's just fine. Also the steering colum makes a wierd vibration when I cross railroad tracks or any other rough terraine. Any ideas?

Message: Sounds like you ruptured the diaphram in the creadiswear valve. It makes the poping sound when it tries to work but can't. It is inside the PS pump and can only be changed with special tools that the dealer has. It stabalizes the steering shaft and that is why it vibrates when you hit a bump. Better get it fixed before it screws up the entire pump.
