Subject: air bag light IP: Logged
Message: last week my remote start and door locks quit working. the locks work if i use the factory remote, but nothing on the fob for the remote starter. the battery in the fob is okay. last night and again tonight the air bag light came on. there is no code being sent, the cruise works, horn works. disconnecting the battery cable and holding the key on does not clear the lamp. any other thoughts. the remote start hasbeen in for 2 years, trouble free. all help appreciated.

that is because the lamp IS NOT controlled by the PCM it runs on its own little independent system. There are several sensors that could have gone bad, two, one on either side of the front bumper , plus an inertia sensor, but I am not sure where it is at, and possibly another one in the system. BE VERY CAREFUL if you decide to sort this out yourself. One wrong move and tha airbag could fire, and that WILL cost more to fix then taking it to dealer or repuable mechanic that is CERTIFIED in repairing it.
