Subject: 4.10 Gears: Quiet & Reliable IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2004 2WD Dakota CC with a 4.7 auto and a 9.25 rear with 11,000 miles. It came with 3.55 gears and lsd. I want to know what brand gears are the most reliable and quiet for the 4.10 upgrade?
Mopar, Richmond, Yukon, Motive, etc.?

Message: Not being an expert in after market gearing, and not going into cost at all, I've never heard anybody complain about OEM gears > I'm not saying there the best but they must be very good considering all the upgrading you read about in here and seldom if ever does anyone ever mention changing gears because of mechanical problems > Just one option to take into mind.

Message: OEM aren't available any lower than 3.92. I've heard good things about the Yukons; considering going to their 4.11s myself.
Lead, follow, or get out of the way

Message: I HAVE THE 4.10 YUKON'S IN MY 2003 4X4 FOR ABOUT 10,000 MILES NOW. THEY ARE GREAT AND QUITE. I HEAR NOTHING ON THE ROAD. THEY WERE ALSO SETUP VERY WELL.

Message: Anyone got 4:10s in a quad cab with 4.7? What kind of mileage? My 00 has 3:55s and gets about 14mpg. I'd like to upgrade.

Message: Thanks for all your input. I also wanted to known where is the best place to get the gears. Randy's Ring and Pinion only have the "Value Line" in 4.10's for $187+. Thanks in advance.

Message: I got my yukon gears from Randy's been about 2 years now. I have a little gear whine but i hardly notice it anymore. You will probably get a little whine with gears as high as 4.10. Richmond Precision gears are the best.
