Subject: Initial TPS voltage??? IP: Logged
Message: I was bored this afternoon so I thought I'd look into this "TPS mod" that everyone has been talking about. Did all the necessary reading then decided to go at it. Only problem was, I checked the initial voltage reading from my TPS....it's already at .82v??? I thought factory settings were anywhere from .3-.7. Has anyone else seen an unaltered TPS reading this high on our trucks. If so, why?
BTW....'97 5.2L

Message: I will check mine when the weather clears. The FSM says it must be minimum 0.2 volts with throttle closed, but does not give typical specs. Sounds high for stock. Will post my result.

Message: Kaderdak, if you are at .82v, you have nothing to play with.
Some engines don`t like to be set at more than .75v, but again, .82v is close enough.
Let us know what you did.
Peace.
