Ok, so I just replaced the upper and lower ball joints on my 02 Dakota CC, (also did the shocks at the same time as they were going bad already) and there is still popping coming from the front end. If anyone has any ideas please let me know... It's really upsetting spending $900 and still not having it fixed. The popping noise seems to happen mostly on right hand turns, but it also happens when backing out after the truck has been sitting in the driveway all night. The dealer (and now my own tech) can't seem to find the problem, I'd really like to get this resolved as it's been happening for the past 2+ years.

Thanks,

BigDs02Dak

I did my '00 4x4 ball joints under the recall and still get popping too.

I have my suspicions, since during the time I had the truck there the dealership called about 3 times wanting to do bogus repairs...I asked them to put a new battery in my keyless remote ($8)--they called and said it needed a $90 reprogram. I said no thanks, and lo and behold it WORKED when I got it back that night.

Anyway, what is this business about the steering shaft?
