hey guys...i read a while ago in here that people were putting in different plugs to get rid on gas ping.....which ones are they or how can i get rid of this annoying ping....ive run only one tank of 87 in it because it pinged so bad....i run 89 now....thanks for any help

The Plugs are Autolite 3923. They can help spark knock. Also, you may want to look at putting in a 180 degree thermostat, as opposed to the factory 195 degree.
I did both of these and it helped, but did not eliminate the pining.
There is a TSB on this problem, and Chrysler has a fix for it. I took mine to the dealer and they re-flashed the PCM under warranty and mine has not pinged since. Also, I did not notice a loss of power after the reflash.

I spoke to a local dealership about this a week ago when the plugs and 'stat didn't cure the problem on mine (though I've dropped from premo to mid-grade), and here are two things I learned from the service rep:
1) Even if your regular warranty is over, the PCM flash is covered by the 80K warranty. W/o it, it's just under $80.
2) He told me that he's gotten spotty results from it; some people it just fixed the pinging and some people lost what he called "a lot" of performance and mileage, seemingly on random vehicles. He also told me that DC is coming out with a new flash that should be more reliable in a couple months and suggested I wait.
This is the service rep, and we all know about dealership guys - some are great and some don't know what they're talking about. But I'm passing it on. Anyone confirm or deny?
