I just got a power steering pressure sensor for my Dak because my engine light said I had a problem with it. Does anyone know how I can install it?

Had a 02 Ram with a PS pressure sensor that quit, but the dealer changed the whole rack & pinion out under warranty. I was under the impression the sensor was in the rack somewhere.

Two major signs were: 1) leaking rack boots
2) engine stalling in slow right turns because the pressure required by the steering pump was not sensed - and the engine didn't increase revs to compensate, so stalled.

This happenned several times, and to other Ram owners too.

Maybe there is a sensor on the engine, but I think the main computer is supposed to pick up this signal.

It's in the power steering pressure line, usually you service the line with the sensor. I replaced mine and the line came with the sensor. Also it might be worth to replace the line since it comes with it because the sensor in some cases is more than the other part plus the sensor combined. This was far a 2000 Dakota.
