Subject: Anyone heard of the energy cell? IP: Logged
Message: I took a trip to our local dealer the other day and they had tons of advertisement for a new thing called the "energy cell".
It's some sort of magnetic contraption that fits around the fuel line from what I understand and is supposed to greatly help fuel mileage and make the fuel burn more efficiently causing a bit of a performance gain.
I kinda laughed when I saw it. It does however cost $180 so it would have to make a ton of difference before I would consider it.
Anyone else heard of it?

Message: Someone mentioned in another thread all of the bogus crap that comes out during oil shortages, saw the same device in the 70's and 80's oil crisis'. Bad thing about these devices is they will not improve your gas mileage. Well maybe .00000000001 mpg improvement, but then it would take 180,000,000,000,000 miles or so to pay for the thing ;-)
Now,,, you have to ask yourself,,, what type of credible business would try to peddle this crap onto thier customers?

The kind of company that thinks about money first and true support second.. Well, maybe 4th, 5th, 6th.. somewhere in there.
Sad thing is that I wish they'd realize if they gave good support and had good products they'd sell MORE vehicles, therefore making MORE money! But NOOOOO, they say that we sold X amount of vehicles last year, if we save $14 on production cost, it'll save us $14 x X this year! Little do they realize that that saved production cost makes a lesser vehicle and lowers sales, making their gains a loss..
Sorry, rant over..

If you combined it with a Tornado, TB spacer, and a Jet chip, on a 4.7.
Those of you that know anything about me, caught the sarcasm right away.

Message: I hear they work well if you put on greasless muffler bearings.
We had a company try to sell some magnet gadget to work on our cooling tower piping, they said we would never have to by water treatment chemicals anymore, that the pipes would no longer carrode, ect. What a load of BS.

Message: i love these things and the insane claims they make. $180? though. JC whitney sells the same thing for 40 bucks, that sure must be a nice profit margin on some $3 magnets seling for $180

Message: I gotta agree with scott...$180??
You would think that you could make a home-made contraption like that yourself instead of handing out a bunch of money.
Heck if a magnets all it is, there's enough magnets on our refrigerator that I could make quite a few...lol!
