Subject: Removing Running Boards IP: Logged
Message: I've got a 2000 QC Sport 4x4 with the factory running boards. THey look nice, but the New England winter has roughed them up alot, and I want to remove them and sand down the metal brackets, re-paint them. However, I have used every bit of strength I've got, and a can of Liquid Wrench to get those bolts off, and I can barely budge them. 2 of the bolts I actually torqued them until they twisted in half. Does any one have any recommendations for tough bolt removal?

Message: When I removed my running boards about 95% of the bolts broke. Have you tried using 2 wrenches? or 1 wrench and a socket? I had to do that with some of mine, they broke anyway. It would have been easier if i had a air ratchet (I used 12 point craftsman without an extension)
