Subject: Injector Circuit Malfunction error code

I need a little help with a problem I experienced yesterday. First off, I have a 2000 4x4 Dakota 4.7 auto. On a long highway trip yesterday, I noticed after about 50 miles in that my RPMs would occasionally rise by about 300 every 5-10 seconds for only a second or so. At first, I thought it was downshifting out of OD, but then realized it was just the engine. About another hour into the drive my check engine light came on. I checked the codes and it was all injector circuit malfunction codes, although not for all 8 cylinders...it only showed 4 or 5 codes (i.e. P0202, P0203, P0204...). I didn't know what the error was at the time because I was in the middle of BFE.

I finished the trip, checked the codes, and thought the only thing I would be able to check was connections. None of my injector connections seemed loose, but I wiggled all of them just to make sure. Next time I cold started, it revved way up on the start...usually only revs to about 1000 or so RPM, but now it revs to 2000+ when I start it. Idles fine, no missing, nothing like that. I drove it this morning and it ran fine...no RPM fluctuations at all, but it still started funny.

I just wanted to know if anyone had some insight on what it might be. I'm going to clean all the connections tonight and see if that does anything..just haven't had time to as of yet. Thanks in advance for any input.

Matt
