Subject: RoadMaster Active Susp Pics Please IP: Logged
Message: I am picking up a Roadmaster Active Suspension setup from another truck dirt cheap and need to find out how the RoadMaster should install on my 03 QC 2wd. Does anyone have any pics or could ya shoot me a couple of pics? Mainly interested in how the system is secured at the axel and shackle. From what I can tell the front anchor is pinched between the axel perch and spring, and the rear anchor just wraps around the end of the spring... right?
I found a picture of the MKI XDDF kit at Summit and it looks like there's a lot of extra parts that are not needed for a Dak install. The most important part of the kit is the spring, from what I can tell the kit I am getting has the same spring as the one in the Dak kit, same number of coils and spring dia.
For $50 I can do a little fabricating ;-)
Thanks for the help!

Message: You have the right idea. To adjust-jack up the rear wheels and remove the wheels. Then jack up the rear body and let the rear end hang free. Adjust the nut on each side until a twenty five cent piece just fits between the center coils.
I have this installed on my 2004 QC, and it is the best thing I could have done. Truck handles much better now!

Message: I think there's pictures on the web site, but like wakely says you have the right idea. I hope you are getting this from another mopar or you won't have the correct bracket for the spring end connection.

Message: Thanks for the info,,,
I picked up the set off Ebay last night for $23, $40 shipped! LOL
They are for a Ford F150 which from RAS's website shows them to have the same spring, this is what the pictures showed also.
The spring end bracket is different Ford/Dodge, that's is why I wanted some pic's to see how it was attached to the spring on the Dak's. All the pic's I saw on the web were generic pics, nothing specific to a Dak except for Summit,,, but they could have had a generic pic also. Modifying the Ford bracket to work with the Dodge springs looks to be pretty straight forward, bend the 45 degree kink in the Ford bracket straight so the bracket wraps around the Dodge spring end correctly.
For $40 I can do a little fabricating ;-)
