Went from a stop to about 60 mph and the 03 6.6 duramax got me by half a truck length. Didnt sound like a stock duramax. I dont feel too bad, i was expecting to get worked. 4.7 4x4 cc, HO,SC, 4.10, 33s

look at it this, you have 33s....and 4.7 vs 6.6 that ain't bad...plus, you paid 50% what that poor sucker did for his chevy/gmc and got probably 80% of the truck. GM is so high ugh! i think i'll stick with dodge for a while.

I agree, a much mor expensive truck with a huge engine, probably withe a twin turbo set-up from the factory and a good set of gears. Also remember that with normal mods, we can expect to get 50 horsepower maximum extra. On any given diesel, you can do the same mods and get close to 100 horsepower. I also agree that the body style of the Chevys are not great. My beggest pet peeve is the clearance and shape of their wheel wells. They restrict the addition of bigger tires way too much. That means you have to lift them a LOT to get decent tires on them.

those duramaxs go like h*ll. 2 years in a row i was at the drag races here and this guy came out with a duramax. at first i laughed my *ss off.until he ran and he was beating all these cars. they go pretty good. the best was when he smoked this kind that thought his noen was a race car. the look on his face when that huge truck chewed him down the strip was priceless.chevy went up one notch in my book that day.i dont now why you would try to race a neon anyways. i have one and my kota will smoke it.but i guess if you never had anything else it's a race car in your little world. peace

graphitedak,your right its only a superchips. You gotta love the power of diesel engines. I would love to have a cummins, but I really dont need a big truck so it would be a waste of money for me.

he was prob running one of them banks six gun systems or something simular. their trucks may cost more but cheaper on the plug in play systems to boot their HP and Tourqe than our trucks. gotta watch them turbo diesels now a days not the slow trucks they was years before. also after market parts for them are comming out left and right now.

here's a good point..
Why pay almost 50 grand while you can have a 3500 SW Ram Cummins QC 6 speed for about 10 grand less including the tow package..
GMC makes a nice truck know dout but when I was looking around at my local GM dealer (at night when the doors was shut) I was shocked at the sticker price listed on the windows. 50K for a 2500 HD (D_maxer) EXT Cab 4x4..!!
Think about it.. If your loosing by 12 % in the market.. woundn't you lower your price?
