Subject: Quick Question IP: Logged
Message: Hello everyone
I have a 2000 4.7L dakota (auto trans). Recently it has not been shifting as it used to. It seems hesitant to drop down into a lower gear when i gas it. The gas pedal also seems to require slightly more pressure to push it down. It kind of feels like it is always in too high of a gear and does not want to down shift...does anybody have a guess as to what could be the culprit? Any input would be much appreciated.

Message: You were right!!
You saying that the throttle cable might be binding led me to the realization that my floor matt had migrated upwards...doh!! That sure was cheap\easy to fix! Thanks Lincoln Bob..you saved the day. At 93K miles i thought i was having my first problem...nope...i loves me my Koda. 80) wooohooo
