Message: My 1993 automatic tranny has 171,000 miles on it - about 2000 miles ago I changed the tranny filter and oil. About 500 miles after the tranny service a grinding noise appeared. Theres no slipping but in 1st and 2nd gear at an even speed (not accelerating) you can hear a definate grinding noise. Any ideas what this could be? Its not the U joints or carrier bearing.
