Subject: 360 prices IP: Logged
Message: could someone give me a reasonable price range on the following mileages for a 360 (assuming it's in good condition). i've been wanting to swap out my 6 for the 8 and have pretty good confidence in myself that i could do it (i swapped the original 4 cyl to my current 6 cyl). anyway, my problem is i probably got ripped on my 6 and don't want a repeat so i need some guidance. thanks to any replies.
1.0-35000
2.36000-65000
3.66000-95000
4.96000-125000
5.126000-150000
6.151000+ (not likely to buy one with this much but it helps to know)
BTW, a place in indiana e-mailed me a quote of $1245 for a 360 in great condition with 32000 miles on it (the price includes shipping). i would think that is a good deal but i generally dont deal unless it's local. so if anyone thinks its good and wants the company info let me know and i'll pass it to you. thanks again for any replies.

Message: You should be able to get one cheaper. I can get a reman installed locally for $2100. A junkyard engine should be less than $1000. I have seen them as low as $500 for a complete engine. Keep looking on the boards and every once in a while a good deal surfaces on ebay. You will need to take your time and accumulate everything you need to do the swap. You may also need to get a new tranny. If your truck came stock with the 4 banger, it is probably not going to be strong enough for a V8. Also will need a new computer and extra injectors. Wiring harness would make it easier.

Message: I havent been looking at these much, but i dont think $1245 shipped with a low 32,000miles on it sounds very bad at all. Especially if it comes with PCM, harness and stuff like that, and if they offer some sort of warranty with it, like DOA, obviously not much more, but they should know if it runs or not.
