Message: Hello all. Great site. I have a 2004 Quad Cab V6 (3.7) Auto 2WD. For the last month i have been experiencing a vibration around 62Kmph (41mph) that shakes the whole truck (body, pedals, steering wheel). Not violently but enough to bother everyone. Anyway, it's been in for servicing twice. Wheels have been balanced and they even flashed the pcm to increase the stall limit on the torque converter (there was a tsb from January 2005, don't have the number with me). Didn't work. They are now telling me it's the harmomnics of the vehicle and there is not much they can do, it's normal. WTF? A brand new truck? I said if it's normal it should have been in the specs for the vehicle and i would not have bought it. Guess i'm going DC for a complaint. I'm still going back to the dealership to put more pressure on them but i don't expect they'll do much. I have seen similar posts on here but not quite the same, some resolved, some not. Any idea's. I'm in Canada (Ontario). Thanks.

Message: Thanks. I did see that one but there was no tsb # in it and whatever they did seemed to fix it. It didn't fix mine. By the way, the tsb # is 18-001-05 titled "Vehicle Performance" dated January 5th 2005. Both the mechanic and the shop forman have test driven it with me and both have said they've seen worse and if it were them they would not pursue it. 30K for a new truck that shakes and they would let it slide? i'm trying to get the shop to sign-off on the invoice that they have noticed the problem but were unable to resolve. In other words, put what they are telling me in writing or fix the dam problem.

Message: i bet if were THEIR 30k vehicle it wouldn't slide. get them to try to fix it 3 times. that i believe is how the lemon law works. 3 attempts by the dealer trying to fix the same problem to no resolve. good luck.

Message: Since it's a 2wd I would look in to a bad u-joint, out of balance driveshaft or even a bad bearing in the rear end. Unless every single truck off of the assembly line does it it's not normal and they HAVE to fix it!

Message: i have had much better luck with the 5 star dealers. they seem to really care about problems and do all they can to make the customer happy. i had the same problem you mentioned but the flash fixed mine. maybe the flash didnt take properly to the ECU or the mechanic screwed it up somehow. i would ask them to try the flash again, for the rest of us experiencing this problem the flash cured it

Message: Derrick.
If you take a QC and run over 70 kph with the rear windows down ,even 2 inches each, while the front windows are shut, you will get the mosy horrendous harmonic vibration.
It's bad enough to shake the interior and creates a thunderous drumming in your ears as well.
Solution.....open the front windows atleast as much as the rears.
Hamilton Dakota Owner.

Message: I know, it's terrible. I don't let the kids open the back windows if i'm going over 50kph. I spoke to the dealer and they want to look at it again. Gonna try to take it in this week. At least they are trying.

Message: If they can't fix it try Johnston Chrysler here in Hamilton.
They've been good to me.
Heck, I went to them with a printout of the balljoint recall,
before they had been notified on what to do by the head office,
and they ordered the part and did the fix within 3 days.
Hope all works out well for you too.
