Message: Mmmmm...depends on how capable or willing you feel like doing it yourself for. I painted my entire truck flame red last spring (just about the most expensive color made it seems like.) I painted the entire truck plus clearcoat for just under $300.
If you have a decent garage space, a basic concept of automotive painting skills, and some time, I'd imagine you could do it yourself for around $100. Just depends on how much effort you're willing to put into it.
If you don't feel comfortable doing the painting, you could atleast get all the parts sanded and prepped and just them to a body shop to have some paint shot. That alone would save you some decent cash. A lot of the labor/money spent on paintwork is for prep.

Message: On the high side but not outragous. Take it to one of those budget painters since these are all high-wear parts. To save money, you could remove all the parts, prep them for priming, send them to the shop, then reinstall them.

Message: Counter with $400, there is this thing called labor you know. It's not just the cost of the paint. If they do quality work (no fisheyes, orange peel) why not go with them.

Message: That sounds about right. My friend owns a body shop and I work there part time. As was stated in a above post, these are wear items and the fact that some are plastic must be prepared properly or the paint will not stick and will chip off.

Message: Thats a pretty decent price, but like others have said, you can take the parts off and prep them to save some money.

Message: Bad thing is I have painting skills and all that, I'm actually going to college for all of this. Between school, work, and the "wife", I literaly have NO time at all.
There was another shop I checked out that said $325. BUT, they didnt even have the proper painting area, they didnt even know that prepping plastics for paint is totaly different than prepping metal. Yea...Thats when i said "I will spend the extra $100". I may get it ready for them, all depends. Whats is that special stuff I need for the handles and mirrors called? I know its listed on a "How To" some where, but like I said, No time. :( thanks for the help.

Message: Actually you're probably gonna want those parts to have orange peel in the paint, otherwise they won't match the factory Chrysler paint job.

Message: I paid about the same to have the following parts painted:
Door/tailgate handles
Grille
New smooth front valance
Rollpan
GTS headlight covers
Stock textured mirrors
SS aftermarket mirrors
It's true - seems like a lot of $$, but there's quite a bit of prep involved, and I'd rather pay to have it done right the first time.

Message: I wouldn't pay too much. Due to the type of material it's going to have to be done at least every 2 years or it will look poor. I did it on the truck I had before the Dak and wished later I never had. After paying to have it done (twice) I bought a gun and did it myself the next 2 times. The paint lasted just as long when I did it and I spent less on the gun and paint than I paid for the first job.
