 Subject: AMSOIL question

Okay, so I've read a lot of the posts, and the AMSOIL guy seems to make a pretty good case, and I'm considering giving it a go.
I would like to know if there is anyone who has had issues with their products, or any reason not to try it?
In addition, my Dakota is still under warrenty, any issues there?

I asked the sevice manager at my dodge place about synthetic in my engine. he said go ahead and asked him if it would void my warranty and he said no and even asked about amsoil and he said use it. that dodge only doesnt reccomend synthtic in the 5.7 hemi motor right now. he said they put mobil 1 in alot of card that comes in for oil change and the owners wanted syn.

I guess dodge hasnt tested it yet maybe. only reason I can think of. hasnt the 5.7 hemi only been out for like 2 years?

Have any idea why my 04 mercruser has bold printing in owners manual that states NO Synthetic oil?
I was changing it and was going Synthetic with it checked manual for weight/capacity and found the warning.

When I went to the dealership last fall to get my transmission filters, the parts man asked if I had my tranny fluid yet and I told him yes. He raised his eyebrow and asked what I was using. I told him "Amsoil" and he said "Ahhh, the good stuff". Pretty reassuring, considering he makes his money selling OEM stuff.

Real Simple -- Mercruser does not offer a synthetic oil.
Therefore .. they tell you NOT to use synthetics,
in the hopes that you will use their OEM product.

He (the Dodge Dealership Parts Department Employee) raised his eyebrow and asked what I was using. I told him "Amsoil" and he said "Ahhh, the good stuff".

AMSOIL is all that my Dad and I use in the following:
2 Dodges (one with a Cummins), 2 GMC's, 1 Motorhome (Ford
Chassis), 1 New Holland TC-33 and other miscellaneous
equipment.
In fact ...... We started using the AMSOIL in the RAM 2500 Diesel
while it was still under warranty.

Mercedes-Benz has several Grades of Amsoil on their approved list. So I guess the same company that owns Dodge condones the use of Amsoil.
