in my 03 dakota the only blower speed that works is high all the other ones do not work. anybody no what causes this. And does the whole plastic peice have to be replaced in the truck to fix it since the heater and air conditioning controls are in the plastic.

if the only speed that works on the heater is high then it is the resister that is not working the item cost ablut $8 to 10 dollars at the dealer and takes about 5 min to change. On the 92 it is on the passanger side of the firewall under the hood and is 2 screws and a plug im not sure about th location on the 2003. the parts dept at the dealer should be able to tell you the location when you buy one.

if it the same resistor that went in mine, it is under the dash on the passenger side. Cost is about $8-10. I lost all blower motor speeds. I can't remember the exact name, but it wasn't hard to replace, just an annoying place. If you lay on the passenger front floor board and look up under the dash, it is a fairly large plastic electrical connector with a wire loom going to it. good luck
