I've been running the original t-stat with the clutch fan removed for the last year and a half. During the summer, with the AC on, you will not notice as the electric fan is on whenever the AC is on.

I do notice that the temp creeps up some during the few months that I don't run the AC (Houston area), but the temp still stays below halfway on the gauge.

I've thought more seriously about adding an external temp sensor to turn the electric fan on at 190-195, then on changing the t-stat to a 180.
