Alll this talk of the Tornado, HOW MANY PEOPLE HERE have seen the inside of the intake assembly? I have. it wouldn't help to add a spacer to a dodge beerbarrel intake manifold, even IF it'll help the Bowtie and Blue Oval boys, MA Mopar tweaked our intakes for us.... first, it opens into a huge chamber. then into individual J shaped runners. it swirls the living snot out of the air as it is, ading more distance( outside of adding TO the runner itself) isnt going to affect the swirl of the air(or the economy of the engine) , I've POLISHED the inside of mine, and ported it too, whihc dramatically improved airflow, and definitely increased MPG< by ELIMINATING air restriction...don't believe me, then just try this. measaure MPG with a stock intake tube, the accordian type, then use a K&N FIPK smooth bore tube. which ones higher? which one allows smoother air flow?
