Subject: GRINDING NOISE IP: Logged
Message: I have a grinding noise in the rear of my 02 qc 4.7 auto. It does it at all speeds. I have serviced the rearend and used friction modifier. no help.the ring gear and pinion looked good. could this be u-joint. They don't seem to have much play in them but the noise is getting louder.THANKS

Message: If you have DISC like mine does, then you've got DISC pads AND DRUMS for the e-brake in the rear.
Put that sucker up on safety stands and run the sucker in gear. That's how I usually find noises.
