Subject: replace intake gaskets IP: Logged
Message: I plan to replace my intake manifold and belly (valley) pan gaskets. I was going to order the Mopar Intake Manifold Gasket Set (P4876049). Does that set include the belly pan gasket, though?
Also, the guy at the auto parts store recommended the red high temperature RTV sealant. Is this what others of you used?
Thanks.

Message: not too sure about the intake set having everything... but yeah, the Red RTV is what you should use, on both gaskets... belly pan leaks are less prone with the sealer there, but the only true fix I've seen and done is to get an aluminum piece... either cut to fit, or from hughes engines, theres is like, 80, I think, while you can cut and grind one for under 40 from a sheet metal supplier... you'll need a 1/4 inch by 7 inch by 16 inch piece, if I remeber right. make sure you get at least two intake bolts, for the front near the water passages, as the stock bolts are a strecth bolt, and should be replaced, but you can get by with the two only... and torque it down a few times, by the torque sequence, as it takes a few times.
