Sport is not SXT, SXT is more like the base model. Sport has color matched bumpers, among other things; SLT has chrome trim, etc.

The SXT is a V6, period. You can add bells and whistles to an SXT, but so long as it's an SXT it will be a V6.

Justi yo usure about the SXT being V-6 only? I test drove an 03 SXT QC 4x4. and it had a 4.7 V-8 in it. even popped the hood and its the same enginge as in my 03 SLT truck. so I dont think SXT are V-6 only.

I thought with the SXT its was the sport replacement because I have never seen a sport version of an 03. unless they dont put the sport logo on the trucks no more.

but thanks for the info just a question that was bugging the hell out of me lol

im pretty sure the sxt is the same as a slt except the slt is a v8 and the sxt is a v6. mine is a 04 slt but the bumpers are painted and the grill was chrome. the sxt is the same but it has a v6. i peal the package badges off. the dakota or dodge badges dont bother me. maybe they put the wrong decals on? when i shoped for my truck all i did was look for the slt and i knew it was an auto. v8 and it had power everything except it didnt have power seats which is a plus for me becouse i dont like it.

Don't know about SXT but around here the SLT are known as "old man trucks" because of the chrome trim, and usally have a higher level of interior trim also. As for the absence of sport in '03, theres one sitting in my driveway but it's a weird one.

and power everything but @$$wiper
also found out by service manager that it's got a havy duty radiator, but not the intire cooling package. Seems to me that the guys on line that day decided to build a classy drag truck.

I thought the SLT was more of the "traditional luxury truck" line. It had the chrome for the traditional truck appearance, but it also had more standard trim options. I thought the SXT was more of an "available performance" vehicle and the replacement for the RT, not the same, but had the options available to make it as close to an RT is you can get.

SXT is nothing like an R/T. Again - its the base model; most have the 6 although I've heard some of the later ones could have an 8. If an SXT has similar options to an SLT, its because they were ordered - while those features would be standard on an SLT.

SXT is not about "available performance" but more "available looks". when they first came out in '02 I think it was SXT package, no options =V6/auto 16" tires, charcoal bumpers & flares, a/c, p/s, p/b that's it.
my '00 Sport package, no options, came w/v6, 5speed, a/c, p/s,p/b, tilt and cruise, body color bumpers.
