Message: Hello:
I am looking for some feedback on the new '05 Dakota. I put a deposit on a club cab 4.7 4x4 today. I traded in my 2000 Dakota 4x4. I could not pass up the price. Toyota and Nissan wont budge from the sticker price. They are nice trucks but I feel you still get a lot for your money with the Dakota. Any thoughts or opinions? Thanks

Message: I've put 3800 miles on mine already. About the only things that bug me are the 4x4 switch location (I wish it were swapped with the airbag shutoff) and that if I lean too far I can bonk my head on the plastic piece that's on the headliner and arcs around the seatbelt hanger/shoulder adjuster. I love the ride and handling of this pickup and getting ~20 mpg at a steady 65 cruise is nice. The power seems to be pretty decent and the automatic almost always does what I expect of it (once in a while in really hilly country I need to hit the Tow/Haul button.) It cost a little more than the Colorado and Ranger I compared to but those are just dinky little things in comparison. Overall I'm really happy with my pickup.
