Hello
I have a 2002 Dakota Sport extra cab 4x4 with a v6 magnum engine. I was wondering if you guys would know why there isn't any v6magnum emblem on the front fender of my pickup. I asked the guys at the dealership and they said it was because of the fender flare trim package on it. Well thats not the case because I just looked at two other Dakotas with the flares and they had the badge on the front fender. I thought hmmm maybe its just on slt packages, thats not the case either because I looked at another Dakota and it had the slt package and it didn't have the badge on it. And I've seen other Dakota sports with the badge, so it doesn't make any sense..... Any ideas on what determines the factory putting the badge on it??

It seems that around 2002 or so they stopped using the badges altogether.
My 2003 Dak doesn't have a V8 badge either.
I guess you have to "listen" to the truck to "know what's under the hood".
Dodge made a big deal about the V6/V8/V10 badges, then stopped using them for some reason.

I think Grphitedak is correct, my wifes 00 SLT has the V8 badge and my 02 Sport has nothing. There both 4.7's.

My 92 Dakota LE has no badge for the Magnum V-6, just the air cleaner label...and my brother bought it new, so I know badges weren't removed.

i have 2001 slt, it says dakota on the doors anf dodge 4x4 on the tail gait, no v6 anywhere. in a way i dont care cause my exaust makes it sound like a v8.

Good Day: Dodge stopped using the badging in 2000 for all the models, removing the v6 magnum and the quad cab badging as well, they were only used from 97 to 2000 on the gen 3's and the reason for the removal was the changes to the vehicles ie: interior changes from 2001 to 2004.

The badges are back in use on the '05 its on the tailgate ,passenger side....
