Wesley's Bleach white works pretty well on my truck, but the tires are still fairly new. It's cheap, you can probly find it at K-mart or Wal-mart.

My dad tols me his secret for this, and its real cheap haha. I had a set of some Kelleys with 70k on them, and you could tell the previous owner did not clea nthe white lettering or tires at all really, and he said to buy some SOS pads at safeway .. and it got all the white back, just like that. Try it first, its dirt cheap and it worked on my truck, and on my friends ranger

I've heard the bleach white works well...
If they are just dirty though (doesn't sound like it), a brass bristle brush works great and can be used on some other things that the SOS pads can't...plus it'll last alot longer.

go to a local dollar general(if you have one nearby) and get some Mean Green. great stuff and it's environmentally freindly. :)

best that I have found is "ajax" with a wet thick brush, use it all the time great for whitewalls too! (if any of you have classics!)

I have used Wesley's Bleach white and it works well.
For general cleaning, I use Castrol Superclean. It can be used for about anything. Wal-mart sells it.

so the way i understand it from your posts is the rubber itself is white and i just need a good cleaner. i got my meguiars order today with some new products i havent tried yet, one of them is called extra and it says it is good for cleaning the white on tires. i'll give it a shot tomorrow night after i try out my new dual action buffer.

I cleaned the raised white letters on my toyo open countrys with a toothbrush and some fast orange hand cleaner. Took a while to do all 4 tires but looked brand new when i was done.

with a squirt or two of wesley's and a very few stokes with a sponge and I'll be done long before you with the mean green or the fast orange and a brush of anykind and a lot less scubbing then with a steel wool pad, and over at your GF's house and done her before you ever get the tires hosed off.
