Subject: driveline vibration normal??! IP: Logged
Message: ok so the other day i was changing the fuel filter on my 1992 dakota 3.9L with auto tranny.. after i changed the filter i got under it to check for leaks after i started it up.. then i noticed my driveshaft and transmission were vibrating with the engine.. it was not out of control are anything jus vibrating in sync with the engine ideling... is this normal? or is the driveshaft/transmission supposed to remain perfectly still at idle despite engine vibration?/ any help will be appreciated.

Message: Yes, that's normal. They are all solidly bolted/attached together. In theory, the engine mounts and trans mounts have the same durometer rating.
