Subject: a miss from one bad coil? IP: Logged
Message: My 4.7 has a miss. It happens on cold mornings, about 10*F, and once the engine begins to warm up the miss goes away. It happens only after initial start-up and doesn't happen again until the next morning. The plugs are new, the coils are properly seated and all connections are tight. No error codes either. Bad coil??
Any ideas?

Message: Maybe, but I'd check all electrical connections and think about the possibility that it could be a plug even if they're new. I'm more used to seeing a coil act up when its hot than cold (usually due to a break in the winding seperating from thermal expansion).

Message: I was told that Champion plugs are the only ones that will work in Mopar engines. Try copper or platinum Champions ( 318s or 3318s I believe ).
