Message: My 117 amp alternator is going bad.... is there a way I can install the 136 amp one? I was told that the 136 amp alternator does not have the 2 prong connector just the +12 wire ....

Message: Not sure about the connections; but another thing to be aware of when upgrading to a higher output alternator is that often wiring needs to be upgraded as well to be able to carry the higher amperage.

Message: A little different application, but my '00 4.7 136 amp has a heavy wire leading to the isolation module, as well as a two wire plug. I'd suspect the 5.2 would be similar, but can't say for sure.

These two sites are good for cross referencing mfr part numbers. Also have good pictures of the alt as well.
