i have 2001 dakota slt, just wondering if my front grill is metal or coated plastic. it looks like metal but feels like plastic. it is stock. i am asking because i want to know which meguiars product i should use to clean/polish it. i think my bumpers are metal and rubber/plastic.

Well I will do my best to help you
I have a 99 and here is how it is
Front
Grill is plastic
upper bumper is steel
lower bumber/airdam is plastic
Rear
The bumper is steel with four plastic peices attached, two on top (left and right look like steps) and two that kind of wrap down the back left and right.

your grill is chrome plated plastic. and never dull works fine on it. but only one way to find out is to break it lol. but any chrome polishing product you can use.
