Subject: Transmission bolts IP: Logged
Message: I have recetly replaced the transmission in my 98 dodge dakota with a 318 engine.
The problem I am having is the bolts that hold the torque converter to the flywheel continue to work loose and cause this terible rattleing sound. I have tried getting new bolts thinking the old ones might be worn out, and I even put lock tight on all of them prior to putting them in, however no luck. You guys on here where a big help in the past so i figured I will try this again. Thanks in advance for any input.

Message: You might check if you might have USA and metric bolts mixed up. Be sure to use number 8 bolts or better. Good luck

Message: another quick question.
Other people have said something about metric and standard bolts. I used the bolts that were in the torque converter when I changed the trans. I thought maybe they were worn out and thats why they were working loose, so I bought some new ones from a transmission shop. My question is, is it possible that the remanufactured transmission I put in have metric threads and the one I took out have had standard?
