Subject: OEM Glass IP: Logged
Message: I have to get a new windshield installed tomorrow because of a rock that was "kicked-up" by a truck the other day.
The reason I am mentioning this is that it is always a good idea to insist upon factory glass when getting a replacement. The difference is obvious once the replacement is there, but then that is too late isn't it. You will experiance less 'wind-rush', and the factory glass will not pit as easily.
Some will argue these points, but that is there problem.
So, always ask for OEM/Factory glass.

Message: I never knew that about the windshields but I'll definitly do that if I have to replace mine, I'm hoping a rock hits it cuz I have 100% glass on the insurance. I just took advantage of it. I broke my back window, the slider portion, about a year ago and finally made the claim two weeks ago. They came up with an after market window that didn't have the same outer diameter as OEM so I told them I wanted OEM and they gave it to me... granted it took about a week for them to order it! It's all worth it now though!

Message: I had a "$99.00 windshield" installed once. It sucked. The glass was so distorted it was rediculous.
Insist on OEM if you can.
