Anyone replaced the u-joints in a Gen 3 dakota? I am fixin to attempt this and need some pointers. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

i'm not gonna tell ya how to remove them because i am not very orthidox about doing stuff like that. But i am gonna recommend you get a brute force joint from autozone.

good solid u-joint.

it's been a really long time. and i haven't done it on my dak yet but i do remember a torch and a big hammer will be your best freinds when the time comes.

ok. I'm gonna wait and do it tomorrow at my boss' garage. Hes got all the necessary tools and stuff. I will probably get the joints from Autozone.

The best way I found to do them is by using a vice attached to a table and a socket that will fit in the end of the shaft that holds the u-joint. This will allow you to push the old joints out and put the new ones in fairly easy. An extra pair of hands also hepls alot.

I tried the bench vice and socket thing when I did mine. Broke the vice.
Rented a regular U-joint tool and it did the trick.
Make sure there is lots of grease in the cups to hold the bearings in place.
