Message: does anybody know if a obdII scanner will read the tanny temp? the shop manual says to hook the truck up to the computer to read the tranny temp.it has a chart(temp to dipstick level relationship) the dealer techs are supposed to use after changing the fluid to get the level correct. Message: Not sure, but if proper transmission fluid level is your concern, check it when the tranny is hot, vehicle level, and in neutral. Using that method, you will never overfill it, and the level will be correct for normal operating temperature.
