Hmmm…I thought Toyotas had this mythological status that placed them above every other make???
I’d heard Toyotas last forever and never break down…WTF?

Seems that Toyota Tundra’s are having frequent ball joint failures, premature brake wear with warped rotors,
numerous miscellaneous complaints, including engine sludging, transmission problems and exhaust manifolds cracking. Not to mention, frequent crappy service by their dealers. Could it be that the coveted Toyota trucks are experiencing the same types of problems as the lowly Dodges, Chevys and Fords??? Sure seems that way once you look into it.

Is Toyota worse than Dodge? Probably not, they are just no better as you can see. Do Dodges have the same problems? Yes, they sure do, we know that from coming here. That is my point, Toyotas have the same problems as Dodge or anybody else. I know the Toyota loving trolls here will not bother to read any of these links to educate themselves though. They need to realize that not all of us here buy into their Toyota fantasies because some of us know better.

No sh*t.

Like I said, here in AZ I don't know many companies at all that use imports to do what we require from our work vehicles.

And while we're getting 200K plus miles from these Chevy, Ford, And Dodge vans and trucks religiously while driving them like we STOLE THEM, I'm trying to figure out how this sh*t got started???
Because it don't hold true here in the valley!

It's apparent why toyota people are so adamant on trying to convert all non toyota owners. Misery loves company. I guess if paid top dollar to buy into the "myth" I would be pissed too.

Well I never meant this to be aimed JUST at Toyota. But the myth of imports lasting longer from a simple rumor in itself.

My Chevy luvin' uncle went from driving only Chevy trucks with a 350 and lastly a 454 truck and got into his Tundra with the 4.7 V8 and he loves it.
But he never really had a NEWER Chevy either. His trucks were all 80's and early 90's Chevy trucks until he finally decided to buy somthing brand spanking new. So going from a old truck to a brand new Toyota was not like going from a newer Chevy to a newer toyota either.
His 454 ate him for gas, so you can't argue that and I never thought highly of 454's anyway.

But comparing over the years plenty of american made engines have been known to last even longer than the imports. Some imports had "freak" engines like Toyota's 22R series. No power but they lasted aside from their habitual front oil pump seal that leaked. But even then, those engines being used in a very light dity truck didn't last any longer than old designed Ford 302's, 351's, or Dodge 318's being used for heavy duty.

Any way. Argue away...
