I took my truck to the dealer today just to have a check up before my 3/36 warranty expires. For some reason they changed the oil even though I didnt tell them to. I didnt have to pay for it but I am concerned because they put regular oil in it and I have been using sythetic ever since I bought the truck. Is that bad for the engine? Should I get it changed out? Thanks

No harm in running dino oil in there but I would change it anyway. I would have pitched a fit at the dealer and made them change it and put in the synthetic for you. Do you plan on ever going back to that particular dealership again?
I switched to synthetic and have been getting 1-1.5 mpg more in my daily commute to/from work.

i would of taken it to an independent garage. no state inspections at dealer either. the way they fight warranty claims you think they are going to find something wrong?

To be honest I really don't trust dealerships or independant garages either, to many bad experiences from both. But the dealership is basically the only option where I live, unless I want to drive 45 minutes.
