I *almost* bought my better half a Kia "Sportage"
when they were first brought into the USA. I'm
sure glad I didn't! I talked to a few owners of
them and all said they spent a lot of time in the
repair shops.

I'm guess Kia now has better quality than it did
just three years ago or I doubt they would offer
the warranties they do now.

I did notice a few weeks ago, the Kia dealerships
were offering a free Reo if you bought their new
mini van. That was a two or three day thing. The
local dealership in the Toledo, OH area sold 16
Kia's that weekend but only two were the free
give away.

My wife's former boss worked at several differnet dealerships and she said that the Kia dealership had the busiest service center.

Ford owns the majority if not all of the stock in Kia, they purchased GM's share. You have to wonder if ford will keep the entire kia line or eventually ax some models (recall GM / Geo). Also makes you wonder if ford will increase that quality.
